A product that earns its existence
Most hydration packs solve one problem. This one solves two — and the second one nobody was solving. Anti-theft zipper routing, hidden pockets, and a harness geometry that distributes weight differently from anything else on the market.

Designed alongside the CEO from the first sketch through factory handoff. Every panel seam, every zipper location had to work against an adversarial user while staying invisible to the actual owner. DFM reviews, sample iterations, supplier negotiation — full lifecycle in twelve months.

Fire as a finishing tool
Yakisugi is an ancient Japanese technique — char the wood surface, then brush away the ash to reveal what fire preserved. The grain opens up. The material becomes something it wasn't before.

Every chisel mark on the ash is intentional and visible. The brass hardware was selected for its eventual patina — the piece is designed to age, not resist it. Hand-carved over several sessions in the studio, then exhibited as part of the ISFD national competition as a finalist.

Seating as mythology
Noba is named for the Norse symbol of Odin's eye — a single point from which all sight radiates. The lounge form is an ellipse in elevation, a gesture toward that single contained view.

The steel structure is fully MIG-welded and exposed by design. In collaboration with HBF Textiles, who supplied the velvet upholstery. The contrast between cold structural steel and warm tactile velvet was the conversation the piece was meant to have. Built entirely by hand in the university fabrication lab, then exhibited publicly.

Protection from nothing
The brief: a shinguard that disappears while protecting. Carbon fiber is stiff and unforgiving — it protects by being rigid. This goes the other way.

A voronoi lattice based on bird-bone trabecular microstructure: maximum surface area, minimum material, continuous airflow. Produced via SLS nylon — a process that allows internal geometries impossible with any other method. Dense where impact happens, open everywhere else. Lighter than carbon fiber. More breathable than anything on the market.

Four SKUs. Twelve months. Every decision a negotiation between what the product needed and what the budget could hold.

BOM management, supplier sourcing, factory liaison, DFM review — full lifecycle alongside the CEO. Per-unit cost down 15% by the third sample round. Four distinct configurations, each launched to shelf. Not concepts. Products that sold.

Designed it. Welded it.
Showed it.
Exhibition design is spatial design under a deadline. You design the structure, then you become the contractor — and the gap between drawing something and building it is where you find out what you actually know.

Spatial layout, material selection, structural fabrication, and on-site installation at Outdoor Retailer — the largest outdoor industry trade show in North America. Built for Mountain BizWorks' NC OPPS program. Earned floor space against brands with six-figure booth budgets. Built on craft and resourcefulness.
